Hexie Tee Ruler
I had a collection of special tee's from an annual workshop & wanted to create something special for myself. I thought the hexagon shape would be a fun twist to add interest to the repeating logo. The hexagon is nature's strongest shape! Who can't use more strength?

With the 2019 Iowa State Fair deadline looming, I used freezer paper & masking tape to form flimsy hexagon, triangle & diamond templates. Every piece of the Blue Ribbon Quilt was a fussy-cut so the templates were simply outlines to mark target points. The Hexie Tee Ruler is much simpler to use!

My focus & efforts were rewarded with the Blue Ribbon in the T-shirt category at the Iowa State Fair! What a thrill! There are many creative quilters who display their talents at the Fair. I love participating & being recognized by the judges is always an honor. While writing the pattern for this quilt, the Blue Ribbon name was the easiest part!

2020. Who doesn't remember? January brought a little fight with breast cancer. (Keep up with those pics of "the girls." So. Important. Then treat yourself - you know, with fancy coffee or ice cream. Or, fabric!) February brought kidney dialysis for my husband. And then, March & the shutdown. But 2020 also brought my first sales of Hexie Tee Ruler! Fun stuff!

1/2" seam allowances to ease pressing & seam trimming. Helps avoid thick seams for quilting & produces a flatter quilt top.
